Discovered in 1949 and 1952, the two Caves of Cougnac are open to the public from the beginning of April to the end of October. They are located just 3 km from Gourdon.
In these exceptional caves, you will discover a prodigious mineral vegetation, surrounding authentic prehistoric paintings. These drawings are dated around 30,000 years ago and are among the oldest drawings!
Through a guided tour of approximately 1h15, discover a place filled with surprises, frequented by the Men of Cro-Magnon for more than ten millennia. Go back to the traces left by our ancestors, through this timeless visit.
During your excursion, you will also witness an exceptional prehistoric treasure. Our ancestors left traces of their passages at different times (between 25,000 and 14,000 BC): strands of stalagmites, handprints, geometric signs …
