The first thing you notice when you arrive at the pool is the view. It would be no exaggeration to say that the scenery is spectacular. Behind the pool, the Vitrac cliff peeks out from among the trees, and the Caudon rock towers over the landscape.
The contrast between the blue water, the light-colored rock, and the green vegetation offers an immediate change of scenery and the feeling of being… somewhere else.

Our campground in the Périgord Noir isn’t limited to just one type of vacation. Children can play in the water and enjoy the wading pool, while adults have plenty of space to swim and do a few laps.
Around the pool, the lounge chairs also invite you to take your time: read a few pages, bask in the sun, watch the kids play, or simply let go of your plans for a while. Whether you’re with your partner, your family, or just among friends, everyone can enjoy the pool area at their own pace. Aqua aerobics classes are also a great way to meet people and enjoy some social time together.
We also make it a point of honor to keep the pool clean and the area pleasant throughout the season.
The swimming pool and wading pool are not supervised. Children must therefore always be accompanied by and under the supervision of an adult. Access is restricted to campground guests.

When you go camping in the Périgord Noir, you’ll often want to see it all: Sarlat-la-Canéda, Castelnaud Castle, the Domme Cave, the Marqueyssac Gardens, and the trails that wind through the Dordogne Valley. After the hike, it’s time for a refreshing dip!
But vacations don’t have to turn into a packed schedule from morning to night. After a few hours of sightseeing or a walk, slipping into a pool heated to the perfect temperature is a great way to completely change the pace.
We put our things down, change into our swimsuits, and a few minutes later, we’re swimming right in the middle of it all. The kids head back into the water, the adults settle into their lounge chairs, and the day goes on without us having to plan a thing.
And if you’d like to enjoy a variety of swimming options during your stay, La Bouysse also offers direct access to the Dordogne River.
Enjoy the heated pool as early as spring
The pool is open from May 1 through September. This means you can enjoy the pool well beyond just the months of July and August.
In May and June, when the sun starts to peek out but summer is still a ways off, our heated pool becomes your best refuge.
In September, it also extends the swimming season, when the campground and tourist attractions in the Périgord Noir return to a more leisurely pace.
In the middle of summer, it naturally becomes one of those places we love to return to throughout the day—whether to swim, cool off, or simply spend some time outdoors.

Swimming Pool, Hours, Access: Frequently Asked Questions
No. The campground opens on April 18, but the heated pool doesn’t open until May 1. This means that if you stay in late April, you won’t have access to the pool for about two weeks. To enjoy the pool as soon as you arrive, book your stay starting May 1.
Yes, there is a shallow wading pool for young children, located away from the main pool. However, the pool and the wading pool are not supervised, so children must be accompanied by an adult at all times; there is no minimum age requirement for access to the pool.
The pool is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in July and August. Outside of these months—in May, June, or September—the hours are adjusted according to the season; please contact us to find out the exact hours during your stay.
No. Access to the pool is reserved for guests staying at the campground, whether on a campsite or in a rental unit. Day visitors, even if accompanied by a campground guest, are not allowed in the pools.
